初回、草津東は津村が左前安打にて出塁し、犠打と盗塁を重ねた後、西村の右翼への犠牲フライにより先制の一点を挙げる。その裏、紫野は濱田凌が中前安打で出塁、続く今城学が左翼線を破る二塁打で一死二三塁と好機を作ると、小松祐貴の中越え三塁打により二者が生還、逆転に成功する。さらに廣瀬敦基が右翼へ適時二塁打を放ち、小松祐貴も生還。初回を終えて紫野が3対1とリードを奪う。二回表、草津東は池﨑が死球で出塁し、盗塁と捕逸で三塁まで進むと、奥本の遊ゴロの間に生還し1点を返す。二回裏、紫野は濱田凌が再び左前安打で出塁、今城学の右前打で三塁に進み、捕逸の間にホームを踏んで1点を追加。4対2とリードを広げる。三回表、草津東は樋上が左前安打で出塁し、中村の右翼線を破る適時打により1点を返す。さらに中村が二盗・三盗を決め、西村の死球で無死一三塁。山﨑の投犠打により中村が生還し、同点に追いつく。四回裏、紫野は万木泰誠の中前安打を皮切りに、加藤光亮の左前安打で一三塁とし、濱田凌が右翼線への鋭い二塁打で1点を勝ち越す。今城学も右前打で加藤を迎え入れ、再びリードを2点とする。五回表、草津東は樋上・津村が連続四球で出塁するも、盗塁失敗や空過による走塁死が響き、得点ならず。その裏、紫野高校は髙木未来翔、中嶋琉唯、万木泰誠の三者凡退に終わり、追加点を挙げることはできなかった。六回裏、紫野は岡本大志、加藤光亮の連続安打を皮切りに、濱田凌も内野安打で続き、無死満塁の好機を築く。ここで今城学が右前適時打を放ち、まず一点を返すと、小松祐貴が中越えの二塁打を放ち、さらに一点を追加。続く辻本海斗、髙木未来翔の連続安打により、紫野は一挙六得点を挙げ、試合をひっくり返して10対4と大きくリードを奪った。七回表、草津東高校も反撃。樋上の右前打から始まり、中村の中前適時打などで1点を返すが、後続が倒れ追加点には至らず。七回裏、紫野はなおも攻勢を強める。先頭の加藤光亮が内野安打で出塁すると、再び濱田凌が中前打を放ち好機を演出。続く今城学の左飛が相手の失策を誘い加点し、辻本海斗の二塁打で二者生還。中嶋琉唯の犠飛も決まり、さらに加藤光亮、濱田凌が連続タイムリーを放ってこの回も大量6点を加え、18対5と突き放した。八回表、草津東は相手守備の乱れと四死球に乗じて反撃。中村の中前打で二者を還し、西村の右前打でも一点を追加。なおも走者を溜めるが、得点はこの回までで止まり、18対11と追い上げるに留まった。九回表、紫野は逃げ切り体制に入る。投手小松祐貴は二つの三振を奪うなど落ち着いた投球を見せ、草津東の追撃を振り切った。試合は紫野高校が18対11で勝利を収めた。中盤以降、打線がつながりを見せた紫野が、猛追を試みた草津東を振り切る形で試合を制した。殊に濱田凌、今城学らの連打が試合の流れを引き寄せる原動力となった。
